Utilization/Case Management RN - Emergency Department. This will be an on-site ED position - Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 3-12 hour shifts

Utilizing a collaborative process, the Utilization Analyst (UA) will assess, plan, monitor and evaluate all pertinent clinical, psycho-social, and medical information and criteria (Interqual) to assist in determination of the initial and concurrent plan of care for all patients presenting to CMC for intervention. The UA will ensure the utilization of appropriate and timely intervention being the steward of resources for all populations.
This position requires the ability to work independently and exercise sound, clear judgment in interactions with physicians, payors, patients/families, internal CMC departments, and external resources. This position requires strong analytical, PC, organizational, and time management skills as evidenced by a capacity to prioritize multiple tasks daily. The position requires and understanding of physical/physiological characteristics of illness and/or impairment and the ability to extrapolate the information to a POC, as well as articulate the POC and question interventions as appropriate. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and negotiation skills are a requirement, as well as a clear understanding of the SOP within CM/UM and managed care.
