Job Summary
- The RVP Physician Services is responsible for the overall provider contracting process and operational performance for all provider services for each geographical area assigned, over ScionHealth Hospital-based & Specialty Hospital Division
- In partnership with the facility leadership teams and ScionHealth leadership, the RVP of Physician Services will lead and facilitate the implementation of all provider contracting, growth strategies, business development strategies and operational improvement initiatives
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership guidance and coaching to market leadership and market directors ensuring the effective management of day-to-day operations of physician practice operations or hospital-based provider operations
- Ensure effective, efficient communication with all leaders on all matters pertaining to provider needs and strategies
- Lead, facilitate, and actively participate in all provider contracting for assigned markets and geographic areas assigned
- Monitor all provider operations for efficient, effective operations to include, but not be limited to revenue cycle optimization, provider productivity, and patient accessibility to care with all contracted providers
- Lead and/or participate in monthly operational and/or departmental reviews
- Lead, oversee, and facilitate the effective on-boarding of all new providers including monitor practice and provider start ups
- Lead, oversee and actively participate in all business development and growth initiatives
- Lead, oversee and actively participate in all operational efficiency initiatives
- Oversee and monitor the financial performance and provider productivity of all specialties and practices in assigned geographic areas or markets
- Lead, oversee and actively participate in the quality initiatives, payment for performance, value-based reimbursement, and alternative payment model initiatives
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
- Approximate percent of time required to travel: 50%
- Must read, write and speak fluent English
- Must have good and regular attendance
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications Education
- Bachelors degree in healthcare management or related study preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Medical Practice Executive or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years in physician practice management, provider contracting or similar healthcare setting
