The Department of Neurology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Per-Diem Staff Physician to provide expert interpretation of inpatient and outpatient EEGs, including routine, continuous, and neonatal EEG studies. This role supports the Pediatric Neurology division and plays a critical role in delivering high-quality neurodiagnostic care across hospital and outpatient settings. The primary patient population will include newborns to children under 2 years of age, requiring specialized expertise in pediatric and neonatal EEG interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret routine, ambulatory, and continuous inpatient EEGs (vEEGs) for pediatric and neonatal patients.
Provide timely and accurate EEG reports in compliance with institutional and clinical standards.
Collaborate with pediatric neurologists, neonatologists, and other clinical team members to support diagnostic and treatment decisions.
Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings, as needed.
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
Comply with all hospital policies, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
Fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology or Epilepsy preferred.
Valid medical license to practice in State of Florida.
Experience in interpreting pediatric and neonatal EEGs strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently with a high degree of clinical accuracy.
