As a member of this team, the Patient Care Associate provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes. The Ambulatory Care Center treats a patient population within the full range of cardiovascular conditions. Patients see physicians for examination and counseling. Cardiovascular testing and treatments are also provided.
Position Summary
The Patient Care Associate functions as an integral member of team of care on a patient care unit. The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards patient care outcomes. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient focus care from all team members. The Patient Care Associate is responsible for providing a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities as supervised and directed by the Registered Nurse- Patient Care Coordinator. Care is provided in collaboration with the patient, family and other members of the patient focused care. Overall responsibilities are to assist the team in meeting patient care needs. Position located at University Hospitals.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent education and experience required; Previous patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred; Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills; Successful completion of PCA training course required after hire.
